The House That Cleans Itself....

The House that Cleans Itself is the new goal! I mean who wouldn't want a house that cleans itself! Now I am fully aware that my house will not magically start cleaning itself after I finish this read but I do expect for my house to clean itself in the sense that I am going to be working smarter! The theory behind the book is basically WORK SMARTER! Make your home work for you! If you Always leave a keys and sunglasses on the shelf by the door- put a basket there! If your husband always dumps his briefcase and coat by the back door- put a coat rack there. If you always are finding things around the house to get given away put a basket somewhere that you can simply dump in in and when it is full --TAKE IT!

This is not brain surgery people. But I kept simply trying to change all my behaviors! Now dont get me wrong some behaviors HAVE to be changed, I mean you cant put the kitchen sink by the table because they leave glasses there! There is a time for training and disciplining! But not all the time, sometimes it is better for all around to simply make the situation fit YOUR lifestyle.

It is not about going out and buying every organizational tool known to man... it is about defining a space, making it work and then every now and than (if you dont already have something around the house to fit the need) buying something to fit THAT need.

We are doing this book at our kids book club but we decided to do a book for MOM this time and this is it! We all need it. We all want change in our homes and lives! We are all on board! In fact Brenda at The Family Revised is already posted about it, so follow along on her journey too!



I am in Part 2 of the book. I have already:

Divided my home into cleaning/ purging zones

Gone on a Prayer walk around my home and asked GOD how to make this house the best it can be and to help me be consistent and diligent.

Started an information page on each zone- what is important in each area, what I need to accomplish or change

Established my HOME BASE ZONE- which is the most important place to ME to be clean- THINK FLY LADY AND KITCHEN SINK

Got my Hubbie on board!!!

Done zone 1

Started on ZONE 2
