Chocolate Cake Recipe

Matt doesn't like many desserts but he does like pound cake.  I found a recipe for a chocolate pound cake and decided to give it a try.  I don't personally think it is very pound cake like, but it is a very good cake.  It is extremely moist and pretty rich.

1 box chocolate devils food cake mix ( I used Duncan Hines  but I don't think it matters)
1 package chocolate pudding mix-- I used instant and sugar free, it was what I had on hand
1 1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup water
4 eggs

mix together.

Bake at 350 for 30 minutes (mine was done sooner, but I used a bundt cake pan)

It calls for store bought icing that you heat until melted and pour over cake,
but I used powdered sugar icing mixed with a little milk to make my icing.
I could have waiting until it was cooler before putting the icing on but everyone wanted to eat it!

Matt enjoyed it but didnt think it was his favorite.  Everyone else loved it!

I made this recipe for my mom's birthday and it was awesome. I melted Nutella for the glaze.

I think I found a more "pound" like cake for your dh. I did it by accident for my husband's graduation party yesterday. I had him make 2 brownie mixes and put them in my big glass pan (I'm not sure how big but my 9 x 13 fits inside it with room to slip and slide). I figured they would be thick brownies but they are really dense but spongy chocolate cake. Not what I was going for but really good!
