Kaitlin is getting to finally have a butterfly house, we have literally talked about this for years! I don't really know what has held us up but we have just never done it. But Kate's larva arrived today! They appear to all be alive which is a good thing! We have to wait until they climb to the top of the cup and form a chrysalis and than we move the top to the butterfly tree house, than 7 days later we should have Painted Ladies. We will see... We did this a few years ago and had LOTS of fun. It is exciting! Also, we've planted milkweed and have gotten to watch quite a few monarch caterpillars turn into beautiful butterflies. I'd recommend trying this, too! Our busiest time was in the fall.
Maybe if this adventure goes well we could plant the milkweek in September? would that word??
