My parents were not actually married yet, that happened the next year.
Gosh, footsteps had only been on the surface of the moon for 2 years!
Nixon was still in office, although we know how that turned out!
There was no Wonder Woman- she had been invented a few years previously but had not debuted yet...
No one but people in Budapest had laid hands on a Rubik cube...
AND wow imagine blogging from home on THIS baby...
But although all these wonders... including MYSELF, had not yet been invented, or played with, there was something kind of special about that fateful year...
Something that would make this world a different place, a better place because of it...
OH YEAH..

I guess I'm the old-timer - I was 12 years old! And guess what? My grandparents gave us a trip to Disney World as our Christmas present that year! It was a wonderful time, but the thing that stands out in my memory most were the lines. We waited hours to park, hours in line to get on an attraction - I got leg cramps (need I say anything about lines for the restroom?) Thanks for helping me recapture part of that year!
